Wesley Gunter received his Ph.D. from New York University in 2014.
Interests include 20th century French literature and theory, literature and politics, the intersection of literature and philosophy, existentialism, the works of Jean-Paul Sartre, and French film.
He has published an article on Sartre’s early critique of the French Communist Party (“Sartre’s Eighteenth Century: A Model for Engagement?” in Sartre Studies International Volume 20, Issue 1, 2014: 57-68) and is currently working on an article on Sartre’s Saint Genet. He also has plans to turn his dissertation “From Perception to Transcendence: Sartre’s Critique of Contemplation” into a book. |
