toward you as a son to a father that I write to you and tell you how upset I am that Greece is now considering recognizing the PLO and it hasn't ever recognized the state of Israel and that Cyprus has led the fight to censure Israel. And I implore you to do what you can.” And he wrote back a very lovely letter. He said, “I am very upset, and I have written to the Greek government and I have written to the Cyprus government to indicate my upset and to find out what can be done to change it.” It was just lovely, and I sent copies of that to Brademus and Sarbanes and Rosenthal.

I've always felt that if you are honest in your emotions, expressing them, telling people what you think, that of course on occasion you're going to get them upset and angry. But more times than not they are going to respond in a positive way. I think we have to stop there.

Q:

Let me... can I just pick up a little strand as you've been talking? First of all, when you quoted Rosenthal saying that he was half Greek, I saw a quote of yours recently in the paper when you said, “When you're in an Irish...”

Koch:

I know what that is.

Q:

Why don't we put that in since we're on the subject?
