Do you recall whether the march in Washington took place before or after the second election for the district leadership?
I think it took place before. I just don't really remember but my recollection would be that it took place before -- not the second election; it would be the first election. You said the second election?
Yes.
The second election took place in ‘64, and the march in WAshington was ‘63. But what I'm saying is: I think it took place even before the first election -- I'm not sure.
Obviously the VID membership was very enthusiastic about the civil rights issue.
It still is.
And still is. What about the rest of the Democratic constituents on the party district?
