Lasker:

Yes. So that was very dramatic.

The Kirl Douglases gave a marvelous dinner for me. Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox of San Francisco -- he's head of the Crocker Bank -- gave a marvelous party for me at the top of the Erocker Bank in Los Angeles, which was very picturesque the whole of Los Angeles lying below you late at night. It's really a wonderful sight. That is about it.

Q:

Did you go down to the Pedernales?

Lasker:

Yes, I went down to visit Mrs. Johnson.

Q:

Last December?

Lasker:

The 4th of May, I think. I flew down with Rockefeller and his wife and Mrs. Englehark and Mrs. Astor. We went that night to San Antonio to a marvelous dinner where a chorus of black singers came and sang for us -- the Scott Joplin Singers. And then we went to a thing called the Texas Fandango put on by a small texas town, which was really like a popular musical of Texas with live cattle, live hoses and live people. And it was all done on the ranch along the river and it raised about $100,000 for the Johnson
