got the idea of the differences between the people of the South. For instance, in Atlanta nobody thought I was Lizzie Langhorne who married Moncure Perkins. They didn't know Lizzie Langhorne married Moncure Perkins. It didn't mean anything, so nobody took me for Lizzie Langhorne there. I ceased to be Irene's older sister. They were a much more sophisticated group in many ways. They were also a rougher group and rougher also in their attitudes toward Negroes, which was not an issue in this campaign at all.
