to make some kind of a social life in the community, which will further not only his career but his personal satisfactions. All that she has to do. It takes it out of her. Only persons with strong constitutions and sound health can possibly think of it. People who never fatigue are the ones who ought to do it.

Then they must have a husband who's willing and will be cooperative about it. Not all men are that way. Some are and some aren't. All right, if you haven't got that kind, don't try to do it.

The third thing is that they must earn a lot of money - not just a little bit, but a lot, enough so that they can really buy these things. Often you'll find that women work actually on the theory that they can earn enough money to buy a house, improve the standard of living. Actually they can't if they spend their money as they earn it for supplying their place in the home. Say that it costs you $4000 to go to work; you've got to earn more than $4000 or you haven't earned anything. If you earn $5000, you've earned a thousand. You've got $1000 to the good that you wouldn't otherwise have had in your family. If you earn $6000, you've got $2000 that you wouldn't have had. That's all to the good. You can put that into whatever it is that your family needs
