few minutes. Senator Harrison made the mistake of not telling Callus what his name was. He didn't send his card into me, or say that it was Senator Harrison, or say who it was, what it was, or anything. He just said that he wanted to see the Secretary. Callus treated him as he would have any person off the street. Callus should have asked for his name. Doak's secretary, who was acting as my secretary, should have gone out to see who it was and what he wanted, but he didn't.

I was on the long distance telephone. They hadn't interrupted me at all. Nobody had come in to tell me there was a gentleman waiting. It wasn't until I was through telephoning that Callus, having gone thought the Secretary's office and that of the two henchmen, came into my office. He could hear my voice on the telephone and when I stopped, he came in. He made a low bow and said, “Ma'am, there's a gentleman out here wants to see you.”

I said, “Who is it, Callus?”

“Ah don't know. He don't me give no name. Ah don't know who he is, but he seems kind of restless.”

So I opened the door that led directly to the outer office and I saw a man going out the office door toward the elevator. I couldn't see anything but his back. I know Senator Harrison and had spoken with him at least twice, but I couldn't see who he was. I did go and say, “Did you
