Filene stuck branch stores out all over Massachusetts. It was a good store, a very good type of thing. Filene was a natural business man. He had two brothers, but F.A. himself was also a natural philanthropist and interested in social work. He was terrifically sold to social work. He was a leading citizen in every kind of civic organization, a great contributor to all social enterprises. When he died, he established a foundation which specializes in making reports on social and labor relations problems.
