of Oxford, the chancellor of Oxford, all the universities of Switzerland, of Germany, the University of Cracow in Poland, all universities of the world, the highest rating persons in academic life from all over the world, came to this, as well as people from all over the country. I remember being greatly pleased when I was invited. I wasn't sure I would be invited. I regarded that as something important. Not all the members of the Cabinet, felt that it was as important as I did. That's not hard to see why. I perfectly understand why I thought it was so important. I was a New England girl and Harvard always seemed important.

The President was going on a special train. I think he asked anybody in the Cabinet who was going to go along with him. Well, Jim Farley was going so he came on the train. I don't remember what other Cabinet officers went. I think there rust have been one or two others. Anyhow, I went and Jim Farley went for sure. So we were invited to go on the President's special train. As we went aboard that night the President said, “Come in and have breakfast in my private car in the morning.” He asked me and he asked Jim.

I said to myself, “This is my chance to get this board appointed. The President is the President where-ever
