But the first group really grappled with the problems. It was there that I thought that Wickard showed off very well indeed. He always had a fund of very exact information. I thought Wickard was growing all the time and I put it to the growth of anybody who assumes important public office, where he has great responsibility and where he had also a battery of people to keep him in -formed and stimulated. I don't think we realize degree which the people who work for you and keep you informed also stimulate you and make you think responsibly. Anybody who holds public office and has that accompaniment is bound to grow or else blow up and be nothing.
