War? How early?

Stanton:

Gee, I don't have a fix on that. It's easy to look back and take minor clues and magnify them, and it's even easy, I think, to re--analyze your own feelings and say: “Gee, I was against this a long time ago,” when you weren't really. When you were ambivalent. So I think it's unfair to second guess at this point.

I know Don Cook was exposed to the same kind of bedroom treatment, and Don Cook took issue with him on Vietnam and was ordered out of the room. The president turned out the light and said: “Get out of here.” I think that's the last time Don Cook saw him.

Don Cook and I weren't close, but I was on his board, and so I saw him on a regular basis.
