The Master of Science Program

Our Master of Science in Social Work Program melds classroom study with field experience to teach an understanding of scientific principles, practice methods and the ethical and social values of professional social work.

For two years – 60 credits, 1,200 field hours and consecutive fall and spring semesters – our students complete courses in human behavior and the social environment, social welfare policy and services, research, social work practice, and the practicum.

Drawing from the breadth of our faculty expertise, our curriculum is designed with each student’s needs and desires in mind. With an emphasis on social and economic justice for all – and a special focus on at-risk and diverse populations – we provide in-depth study in one of four social work methods combined with focused study in one of seven fields of practice.
