Jenny Crawford has dedicated her social work career to the Bronx community since 2002 through her work at The Bronx Defenders, an innovative public defender office in the South Bronx that provides criminal, family and civil defense to indigent clients. When Ms. Crawford started at The Bronx Defenders she was one of a few social workers and helped develop the role of social work within an interdisciplinary model of advocacy. Ms. Crawford now serves as the Director of Social Work and is responsible for supervising nine social workers.

Before earning her Masters of Science in Social Work at Columbia University, Jenny worked as Program Director for the Hamilton Family Center, a homeless shelter for families in San Francisco. Jenny gained further clinical skills interning at Boys and Girls Harbor in East Harlem, facilitating individual and family counseling, and at Manhattan Family Treatment Court, assessing substance-abusing parents and coordinating appropriate treatment. Jenny co-taught "Interdisciplinary Responses to Child Abuse and Neglect" for graduate social work and law students at Fordham University in the Spring of 2008.
