Judith Trachtenberg is a consultant in social work education and health care delivery, having previously been employed for many years in the field of health care. She was Director of Social Work at the Cornell site of New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH) and then Director of Organizational Learning and Development at the merged NYPH sites. Her clinical work has been primarily at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she collaborated in initiating interdisciplinary group work programs for both patients and staff.

She is active nationally as past president of the Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care and is a fellow at the New York Academy of Medicine. Presently she teaches and advises at Hunter College School of Social Work and is an advisor and SIFI instructor at Columbia University.
