Cindy M. Bautista, LCSW, is an Associate Director of Field Education at the Columbia University School of Social Work. Ms. Bautista comes with 10 years of social work experience in both public schools and private agencies. Her background is in clinical social work, public health policy and program planning and development. Over the last 8 years she worked for the New York City Board of Education as a bilingual social worker, field instructor, faculty trainer, and student and parent advocate. Her innovative and multi-method approached to school social work resulted in increased services to at-risk students and their families, and a decrease in incident rates among students with past histories. She created mentorship programs and as part of the Child Study Team, assisted teachers in identifying student deficiencies and developed intervention strategies to improve presenting issues. These programs are model programs within the field.

Ms. Bautista received her BSW from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and her MSW from the State University of New York at Albany. Ms. Bautista manages the World of Work, Aging and Schools Fields of Practice.
