Molly Freyer is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in social work at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, focusing on practice with survivors of domestic violence with disabilities. Ms. Freyer received her MSW from Columbia University in 2004, and first began working with survivors with disabilities during her second year internship at the King County District Attorney’s Office. After graduating from Columbia, Ms. Freyer served as the Assistant Director of Barrier Free Living’s Non-Residential Domestic Violence Program, a domestic violence agency serving individuals with disabilities, and presented on issues related to disability and domestic violence at various local and national conferences. She plans to undertake further research in the area of trauma and disability, particularly surrounding issues of mental health and evidence-based interventions for this population.
