Full-time Tenure and Tenure-track Positions

The Columbia University School of Social Work invites applications for multiple tenure-track and tenured positions at all ranks.

For more than 110 years, the Columbia University School of Social Work has been a leader in the education of professionals for careers in practice, policy, and administration. Located in New York City, the School offers masters and doctoral programs that are nationally and internationally recognized for their excellence. With a signature curriculum that features multidisciplinary courses taught by leading scholars and practitioners and, rich field education, CUSSW is at the forefront of clinical and community practice, social policy, and social enterprise administration education, research and innovation in the 21st Century.

The School seeks faculty from a breadth of areas with special emphasis in these priority areas:

  • Advanced clinical practice
  • Social work management and organizational innovation
  • Community-focused practice and programming across system levels
  • Social and health policy, with specializations in health economics or aging  
  • Emerging social issues that affect children, youth, families, and communities

We are highly interested in candidates from underrepresented groups.
Appointments may begin January 1, 2012 or July 1, 2012.  All candidates must have a Ph.D. (in social work or in another behavioral, social science, or related discipline); those applying for clinical practice teaching positions should also have social work masters degree.
