CUSSW Alumna and Child Advocate Trude Wenzel Lash Remembered

CUSSW Mourns Death of Alum Trude Wenzel Lash.

Trude Wenzel Lash, a committed and respected child advocate, died on February 4th, 2004. Mrs. Lash, a confidante of Eleanor and Franklin D. Roosevelt, served as the executive director of the Citizens Committee for Children of New York for twenty years. In her career, Mrs. Lash also worked for the Human Rights Commission at the United Nations and spearheaded the landmark reports "State of the Child: New York City I and II". Later in life Mrs. Lash served as co-chairwoman of the Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt Institute in Hyde Park, a role she shared with Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr.
