School of Social Work Announces Wednesday Series Program for Spring 2008
New York, NY – The Columbia University School of Social Work announced today its Wednesday Series program for the spring. Since 2002, the Wednesday Series has fostered explorations of interdisciplinary scholarship, policy, and practice and has drawn attention to diverse social justice issues.
Speakers will include Richard Parsons, Chairman of the Board at Time Warner, Inc., Nina Bernstein, reporter for the New York Times, and Dr. John W. Rowe, former Chairman and CEO of Aetna, Inc. Guest speakers will be appearing as follows:

Initiated in 2002 by Dean Jeanette Takamura, the Wednesday Series features scholars, alumni, national experts and luminaries who are invited to speak on current topics that have implications for the social work profession. Past speakers have included Harvard anthropologist Dr. Arthur Kleinman, United Nations Ambassador Shirin Tahir-Kheli, author and clinician Dr. Peggy Drexler, and international photographer Eugene Richards.
