Conference on "Illicit Drug Use and
HIV Risk Among Older Adults"

Use and HIV Risk Among Older Adults: Implications for Intervention

Judith
Auerbach, the second 2003 Visiting Scholar, gave the
keynote address at the conference, during which she presented
a general overview of the principles and philopshy of the
NIH's approach to HIV prevention science. The conference gathered
leading researchers in drug abuse, HIV and aging to:
- share current state of art knowledge of HIV risks among
older adults in relation to illicit drugs,
- identify gaps of knowledge, and
- advance HIV and drug abuse research and program agendas
for older adults.
The conference was held on Friday, March 7th & Saturday,
March 8th, 2003, at the Interchurch Center, 475 Riverside
