Mark S. Preston Joins Advisory Council of the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute

New York - Mark S. Preston, assistant professor at the Columbia University School of Social Work, has been named an Advisory Council member on the National Child Welfare Workforce Institute’s Leadership Academy for Middle Managers.

The goal of the Institute’s Leadership Academy is to build the capacity of the nation’s child welfare workforce by training mid-level managers in state and tribal child welfare agencies throughout the country, over the next five years.  As an Advisory Council member, Dr. Preston joins 20 other national experts in the field of child welfare to oversee curriculum and program development of the Leadership Academy.

Dr. Preston has nearly ten years of professional experience in the field of child welfare as an administrator, manager, supervisor, and direct-service worker.  His research and publication encompass both management training and leadership behavior in public sector child welfare agencies.
