stand on a particular issue and a particular problem. I'm sure that it wasn't the first time. It was not that they were a quarrelsome or divided couple. They were very devoted to each other. She was fond of Henry and took care of him. He admired her, loved her and took care of her. He was very good to her. They were mature people when they married. They weren't children. They didn't form their ideas and their intellectual and emotional life together. It was formed when they married. They were both mature. They were both grown-up. They were both professional. She had a family of half-grown children - more than half-grown. He had a professional standing, a very broad acquaintance and a very broad basis upon which the respect in which he was held stood. He had his clientele that was not hers. He was devoted to the people that he had worked with in the settlement. He was devoted to the people whom he'd worked with in the Fusion campaign, the Fusion activities in the City of New York. She wasn't the least bit interested in the City of New York.
They didn't agree to help each other politically or to agree politically when they married. I never saw the slightest indication that either one ever tried to get the other to agree with him about these matters. I'm sure that Henry felt perfectly free to observe that Belle was very
