Well, he didn't think so. He didn't want to do anything.

I said, “Mr. Sloan, I think I'm at liberty to tell you this. I believe that Big Steel is going to deal with them on something along these lines.”

“What?” he said.

I said, “I think so.”

“Well, I'd like to know where you learned that.”

I said, “I learned it from very good sources and I think that is about what they will propose. Now, whether the men will accept it or not, I don't know. But I think something like that is what will be proposed. Something at least approaching it might even be agree to, might even be brought about.”

“Well, that's the craziest thing I ever heard of. They haven't had any trouble yet.”

“No, but you know that there's rumbling.”

“You mean to say Myron Taylor would buy that?”

I said, “I haven't any idea whether he would buy it or not, but I'm reliably told that he made that suggestion to somebody.”

“Why, I don't believe it. I couldn't believe it!”
