Q:

Yes. A light plane. He and his wife died together I believe.

Clark:

The blacks whom I knew and talked with considered that a major loss.

Q:

Were you aware that he was the only major labor leader that accepted A. Philip Randolph's invitation to address the founding convocation of the Negro American Labor Council?

Clark:

No I wasn't aware of that.

Q:

In his organization at Solidarity House in Detroit, did you know of a person named Horace Sheffield?

Clark:

I've heard the name. You're asking me questions now the answers for which I have no personal involvement. You know, as I told you I believe in division of labor.

Q:

Another personal question about A. Philip Randolph. Did he ever discuss with you his feelings toward his wife and his concern for his wife?

Clark:

I knew his wife. In fact, when I visited his home, before his wife died (his wife died well before he did), the thing that I
