Q:

You were aware, were you not, that Sandra Day O'Connor was not exactly the darling of the extreme right?

Clark:

I was aware of that, and I was aware of her position on abortion that they were disturbed about. But she's coming around. They ought to be satisfied with her record so far. Are you going to interview her?

Q:

There are no plans at this time. She should be interviewed, in my opinion.

Clark:

No question about it. Jeane Kirkpatrick should be interviewed.

Q:

Surely. Going back to before Thurgood Marshall made it clear he was going to stay in the court, did you think that he might resign before the end of the Carter administration?

Clark:

No. Not the Thurgood I know.

Q:

Can you elaborate at all on any of your relationship with Dorothy Height?

Clark:

My relationship with Dorothy goes all the way back to the early days when there was a youth group for Harlem. She and Olivia
