City of New York and also a man of probity, integrity and social good will, as a very large real estate owner undertook to deal with some of these people. It was one of my ideas that he do it. Another person who dealt with them was the man named Yates who was then the director or the manager of the Astor Estate, which is considerable real estate. They had their office in East 28th Street. It was the old office of the Astor Estate. They had an enormous amount of real estate, and although they didn't have much of it in the area in question, they did have some of it there and had great influence.
