He said, “I told him I'd come up every week if he wanted me to. I'd come up every week and spend two days if I was wanted. I could go up Sunday night. I could be there Monday and Tuesday. Those are the big legislative days. I could see people for him. I could deal with them. I could go talk to the Republicans and the Democrats. I could help with a lot of things.”

I said, “Of course, you can't do that right away, can you, because he has to get acquainted himself.”

“Well, I know, but I'll help him do that.”

I said, “That's fine.”

He said, “There's another thing I'd like to tell you. You might be able to say something to him about it. Of course, he doesn't know Mrs. Moskowitz very well, but the best thing he could do, and it would enable me to help him so easily, would be for him to appoint Mrs. Moskowitz as his secretary. I have recommended that to him. I did it the other night at the Mansion after the supper. I recommended that he have her right there in his own office. Right there in his own office is where she can do everything for him. She can see people. She can arrange things. She can keep in touch with me, tell me what's going on. I can tell her what ought to be done. She can get it through to
