even agree pretty soon, within the next few months if it's necessary. If these negotiations continue, and if their membership can be shown to be large, we might agree to deal with them as representing their own members. Do you think there's anything wrong about that?”
I said, “No. I don't think there's anything wrong about it if they agree to it and if the disclosure of their own members can be absolutely guaranteed not to create discrimination against them in hiring, promoting and all that kind of thing.”
He recognized that as a problem.
We had a very profitable talk, and he said, “Why don't you talk to Mr. Taylor about this sometime?”
I said, “I will. I just thought that I'd feel you out. After all, you're the President of the company.”
He said, “I'll tell Mr. Taylor about our talk if you'd like me to.”
I said that would be fine. He called up Mr. Taylor apparently, because in a couple of days Mr. Taylor called me, and I had a talk with Mr. Taylor. I can't quite remember where I met him at that time. I remember he asked me to come to his house, and I thought I had just better not - not that I didn't like Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, not that I wasn't perfectly delighted
