Your Faculty Mentors

The primary role of the Faculty Mentor is to provide second year students with advising regarding life after CUSSW. In a Faculty Mentor, students have someone available to them to discuss how to best use their degree in the professional world. We have found
that many students leave CUSSW with fabulous credentials yet are unsure about how to begin their careers.

Faculty Mentors can help students identify short and long term career goals and provide some perspective around entering the professional world of social work. Some students may benefit from hearing about their Mentor’s own career trajectories. Developing a relationship with a Faculty Mentor may serve as a networking opportunity, considering how many faculty members have ties with professionals in the field working at various agencies around NYC and across the country.

Whatever the case, the Faculty Mentor is as an integral part of a second-year student's life, helping students gain a sense of direction as they embark on their careers.
